2025 Ad Creative Trends You Need To Know

Hey! Hope you're having a good weekend.Coming at you with a special midweek send because I have something cool to share. Motion just released their 2025 Ad Creative Trends report which I think is awesome, so I want to share some of my thoughts and notes. Ad creative is top of mind for me right now. It always is, but it is the biggest focus for our marketing team right now so this is very timely. Here are a few thoughts that I've been having, especially after reading Motion's awesome report.

First, what's in the report and how did they compile it? The report is full of insights and predictions that the expert Motion team has. They looked at hundreds of millions in spend data and surveyed 500+ DTC experts and insiders. All with the goal of helping brands and marketers make better ad creatives in 2025.

  1. Advertiser Optimism for AI is running high - This one I agree with. I am personally super bullish on AI. I've spent a lot of time playing around with it lately and I am so impressed. I don't think it is 100% ready for primetime yet, but I think it's really close. I want my team to utilize it into their workflows more now, and I want them to be experimenting to be ready when it is ready for primetime. As of now, we're using it a lot for voiceovers and copywriting.
  2. Volume Is King - In today's Meta landscape, brands need to put out tons of volume. This is going to be a huge focus for JRB; transparently we've been under-resourced here and it has caught up to us. We were fine with less volume for a long period of time; but now we realize we need so much more volume to spend as efficiently as we want. Two other things are important, like creative diversity and quality, but once those are in a good enough spot, volume is king. Luckily AI can help here if it's done correctly.
  3. Ok, Motion team would kill me if I gave away the whole report. But, the good news is it's 100% free, you just need to give your email. If you've been to a Motion event, you know they always put on killer events and this report is no exception. They've outdone themselves with this one, and I really appreciate them for sponsoring this episode.

If you read my newsletter, you know how important ad creative is so I don't even need to tell you why you need this report. But seriously, Motion has interviewed the best of the best and surveyed hundreds of brands, so this thing is legit. I've already sent it to my whole team and new creative strategist and we're already pivoting and testing a few new things.

Hey! It's late so I'm just gonna get right into it. I've been thinking a lot about how ad creative is evolving rapidly. If you're active on X, you've probably seen 100 posts about Andromeda and creative similarity. And for good reason. Things are changing and changing quick. Here are a bunch of things I currently believe about ad creative right now and going into 2026. By the way, I had an error in my last newsletter. Happy Thursday! Yesterday my team and I had lunch with our Applovin reps to do some Q4 planning and I wanted to share some of the tips they shared. We've recently been scaling up the channel with plans to really make a push in November so their ream was nice enough to come meet in person and help us plan. I wanted to share some of the tips I was able to that they shared with us. Hope this helps. And stay tuned till the end, because if you like this I have something for you. 1. Creative Is Key...

Hope you’re having a great week. I don’t know about you but October has flown by. We’re at that point where it’s going to be Holidays and then January before we know it. I guess it’s the world we work and live in. Today we’re gonna talk about TV. It’s been a while since I’ve talked about TV, so this should be a fun one. This one is brought to you by the good folks at Roku Advertising and Roku Ads Manager, which is Roku Advertising’s self serve platform. CTV can be an amazing channel year...
